Summer Camps at FAW 2010
Camp hours:
Monday-Friday 10am-4pm with a one hour lunch break
Saturday 10am-1pm (competition)
This camp is catered towards individuals ranging from beginner to national team member
We recommend to start at the age of six.For beginners, the first three days (Monday-Wednesday) will be used to introduce them to the three weapons of fencing: foil, epée, and saber. Thursday will be a fencing games day (always a favorite among campers). Friday, beginners will pick a weapon to focus on, and practice with advanced fencers. Saturday will be a competition day with prizes awarded to all participants.
For advanced fencers, the summer is an essential time to make up for training time lost during the school year. Fencers from other countries such as Russia, France, Italy, and China train professionally on a full-time basis. Under the tutelage of renowned coaches, all of whom were professional fencers themselves, FAW's camps will mimic the full-time training routines used by the top fencers in the world.
For the first time, FAW will be offering 10% multiple camp discounts (e.g. for non-members, the first camp will be $500, the second camp $450, and the third camp $400, etc., and for members, the first camp will $450, the second camp $400, and the third camp $350, etc.).
All participants will receive a complimentary FAW t-shirt at the end of each camp.
Private lessons will be included in the camp.
